You’ve already worked with F major and B-flat major. Now you’ve arrived at the third step on the circle of fifths, moving counter-clockwise. And where do you land here? If you don’t know, feel free to check out my article on the circle of fifths or recall the corresponding circle of fifths mnemonic you learned from me. What was it called again?
Fresh Buns Eat Aces Of the Singing.
Then it’s all clear. After F major and B-flat major, it’s now E-flat major’s turn. And as the position of this key on the circle of fifths suggests, this major key has three flats in its key signature.
Then let’s start directly with the E-flat major scale. In this article, I will also show you the E-flat major root chord, its inversions, and of course, the appropriate fingering for the E-flat major scale.
E-flat Major Scale
Fresh, buns, eat… Got it. E-flat major has three flats in its key signature. And those are B-flat, E-flat, and A-flat. Our root note is E-flat. And off we go.
Sheet music
E-flat – F – G – A-flat – B-flat – C – D – E-flat
These are the notes of the E-flat major scale. Here you see them on the staff. But ideally, you learn to play the E-flat major scale intuitively and without sheet music. In the long run, this will make you a better piano player and a skilled pianist.
Piano keyboard with fingering
You already know the notes of the E-flat major scale. Now you also need the appropriate fingering to confidently play the E-flat major scale up and down the keyboard.
Here we encounter a phenomenon you might already know from B-flat major. We do NOT start with the thumb on our root note. No. We play the ‘E-flat’ with the index finger. And then the F with the thumb, which we slide under the index finger while playing the scale. Then the ‘A-flat’ and ‘B-flat’ follow with the third and fourth fingers. And then the ‘C’, which we strike with the thumb (here too, we slide the thumb under the hand again while playing).

How to play every song on the piano
Do you want to simply play your favorite songs on the piano? Without notes, without tutorials and without learning apps? In your own personal version?
Or do you simply want to spontaneously improvise your musical ideas on the piano? For yourself alone or in front of an audience?

Play Piano by Intuition
Because intuitive piano playing does without sheet music and classical theory, you learn it as quickly as you learned to speak as a child.
While for others the piano remains a “typewriter for notes”, you understand its notes and which combinations always sound right. You can express yourself through the piano – like a small child who has just learned to speak.
In future, you will be able to rely on your intuition in any situation: You will become immune to wrong notes because you will see the right keys in your mind’s eye even before you press them.
In my free workshop I will show you how it works.
