Intuitive Piano Playing: is it like Learning to Speak?
Think about the process of how you learned to speak. You certainly didn’t memorize dictionaries. Instead, as a child, you learned intuitively by listening to adults speak and mimicking their words. Over time, you developed a sense of how the language works. Is playing the piano really that simple? In a way, yes!
How Does Intuitive Piano Playing Work?
The method of intuitive piano playing follows a similar approach to learning to speak. It’s about using the most natural form of learning. You develop a sense of which notes harmonize together and which do not.
You learn songs by trying to replay them. With some practice and experience, you’ll get better and better and eventually be able to play your favorite songs without sheet music and improvise as you please.
